Upgrading to a New Instrument
Moving from a beginner model instrument to an intermediate instrument can make a huge difference in student playing ability, but this is of course a huge step. The next level of instrument will allow them to have a better sound and sometimes access a larger range of notes. This is obviously something to be heavily considered and only recommended for the students who are deeply invested in the long-term playing of their instrument.
Limestone will typically host a step-up instrument night each year where students can see and try out some different models of most instruments. (There are usually some great rebates from the manufacturers on this night! If nothing else, it’s a good night to go up and have your student TRY some of the different upgrades available at no charge!)
Additionally, if you are still renting through Kidder Music, you can do a change on the instrument that you are renting to move up to a better model instrument and the equity you’ve already built up will transfer with you!

Mouthpiece Upgrades
An easy way to make improvements on the sound of your instrument with only a small financial investment is to upgrade the mouthpiece of the instrument. Follow the below guide for some recommendations on options - always go try out a mouthpiece before making the purchase - mouthpieces differ in success for each individual. Kidder has options readily available that you can try to play on before committing.
