Metronome   

A good metronome will help you keep the beat.  There are lots of free metronomes out there that keep the beat in different sounds, combinations, and speeds.

Tuner

Make sure you are playing your instrument in tune with a good tuner application.  Different ones will show you your pitch in different ways and in different terms.
